Who we are

We met at Bullhorn. Twenty years in staffing software later, we're building Hire2Hero.

Nick and Charles. We spent the better part of a decade each at Bullhorn — Time & Expense, Onboarding, Credentials, the payroll integrations — building back-office software that thousands of recruiting firms still run every day. Hire2Hero is the same kind of work, on cleaner ground.

The short version

We met at Bullhorn.

Nick spent nine years there as a Principal Architect; Charles spent eight, mostly leading engineering teams. Long enough to learn what staffing firms actually use, and where the bigger platforms keep falling short.

  1. 2010

    TimeSheasy is born

Nick co-founds TimeSheasy, a timekeeping platform built specifically for staffing agencies. Within three years it's serving 10,000+ users at 400 firms.

  2. 2013

    Bullhorn acquires TimeSheasy

Nick joins Bullhorn to integrate the platform into their ATS — the start of a multi-year run shaping their back-office product.

  3. 2015 to 2022

Building the back office, side by side

Nick and Charles Thompson spend years at Bullhorn shipping the products recruiters actually use. They partner on Back Office onboarding, introducing the packet-of-documents model the product still ships with today. Time & Expense, Credentials, and the payroll integrations all come out of this stretch.

  4. Today

    Hire2Hero

We’re rebuilding the back-office tools we know best, focused on the small and mid-size staffing firms the bigger platforms have stopped fighting for.

Nick Lewis

Co-Founder, Principal Architect

Nick has built and sold a staffing platform before. In 2010 he co-founded TimeSheasy, a timekeeping product for staffing agencies, and grew it to 10,000 users across 400 firms before Bullhorn acquired it in 2013.

He stayed nine years as a Principal Architect, leading Time & Expense, Onboarding, and Credentials. The credentialing platform he built still powers 3M+ verifications today, and the Back Office mobile app and Able onboarding migration came out of that stretch too.

What he cares about is the unglamorous reliability work — month-end payroll exports that can’t be off by a cent, integrations that have to not silently drop data. He’s spent his career being good at it, and it’s the hardest part of what we’re building.

Selected highlights

  • Co-founded TimeSheasy, acquired by Bullhorn in 2013
  • Designed Bullhorn’s Time & Expense, Onboarding, and Credentials platforms
  • Built credentialing infrastructure still powering 3M+ verifications

Charles Thompson

Co-Founder, Principal Engineer

Charles has been writing software for twenty years and leading engineering teams for the last seven, without giving up the keyboard. Java and Spring on the back end, TypeScript and React on the front, most of it spent inside the back-office software recruiting firms run on.

He came up at Bullhorn as a Principal Software Engineer before he was a manager. He built the security-scanning gate that ran on every merge into Bullhorn’s codebases, led the design of their primary payroll-provider integration, and partnered with Nick on the Back Office onboarding portfolio that’s still shipping today. He kept shipping after he started managing — promoted to Sr. Engineering Manager in under two years, eventually leading three teams.

His current work runs the same way: hands-on the back-end migration that pulled performance back into reasonable territory, while pushing AI-assisted development hard enough that team throughput nearly tripled. He has an M.S. in Computer Science from Troy.

He moved into management because he cares deeply about the people he works with. He brings the same care to Hire2Hero’s customers — he’d rather understand how your team actually operates than push you toward something that isn’t a fit.

Selected highlights

  • Built Bullhorn’s security-scanning merge gate across their codebases
  • Led the design of Bullhorn’s primary payroll-provider integration
  • Co-introduced the packet-of-documents model in Bullhorn Back Office onboarding

What we believe

What you’re actually buying

A small team and a few things we won’t compromise on.

We answer our own support tickets

Two of us, no support tier hand-off. When something breaks, the engineer who wrote the code is the one fixing it. Small team, fast loop.

Boring software, on purpose

We’ve all watched staffing platforms crumble under their own complexity. Hire2Hero is intentionally narrow. We’d rather do the few things every recruiting back office needs, and do them right.

Pricing that respects an SMB

Most timesheet software prices like it was made for the Fortune 500. Recruiting firms with 5-50 placements deserve the same reliability without the enterprise-procurement runaround.

We integrate, we don’t replace

Your ATS, your payroll provider, your accounting software. They stay. Hire2Hero plugs into the toolset you already paid for. No rip-and-replace, no migration tax.

Demos go to a founder

Bring us your messiest back-office problem. We’ll tell you whether Hire2Hero is the right tool for it.

Every demo goes to one of us. No SDR queue, no qualification call, no pretending we have features we don’t. If we’re not the right tool for what you’re doing, we’ll usually know who is.
